It’s a great idea to select vegetables that do not take up much space, so you can really make the most of the room you have. Regardless of the space you have available, everybody can grow fresh produce in a greenhouse at home. Home grown fruit and vegetables taste substantially much better compared to shop purchased produce. Options like Tomato plants make the perfect choice simply because they’re easy to care for and only need a small area to thrive in. Green leaf plants such as Lettuce are also effective as the leaves can be collected and used whenever you need them in a recipe, without causing damage to the plant itself. Some gardeners choose to plant straight into grow bags which are placed in the Greenhouse, however you never know when you may need to relocate plants inside, so it is a far better idea to plant your seedlings in pots and then position them inside. This way you have the flexibility to move the plants around or move them out of the Greenhouse completely.
As with all Greenhouse grown plants, it is very important to make sure you do not allow the plants to overheat or dry out through lack of water. Some greenhouses can be temperature regulated, but if yours does not, simply make certain there is sufficient ventilation and regular watering. For Greenhouses positioned in an East-West aspect, consider buying a covering to place over the roof. This will maintain a lower more stable temperature during the heat of the daytime and also insulate during the cooler night times too. Over time you may find your greenhouse becomes dirty. This will lower its effectiveness so consider cleaning off the glass or plastic once per year.
